What’s Up Wednesday 2.11.15

Hey y’all! I know it’s been a while since I posted one of these, but I’m finally back to catch up.

This semester, tons of nonsense has kept my schedule from being right. By the time I got all of the administration stuff figured out, it was too late to switch into the correct class and catch up. So during this semester off, I’ve decided to pursue a childhood dream and go to Hogwarts. That’s right, I’ve enrolled in 7 first year courses at Hogwarts, and it is the best silly fun you could ever hope to write an essay for. Made by fans, for fans, it’s a 9 week course that lets you go at your own pace in Charms, Astronomy, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Herbology, and Potions. Best part: It’s totally free! You can even join a dorm and become a prefect, which is kind of like a TA. It’s seriously so fun! Though I still need to work on that Charms essay…

I’ve also fallen in love, readers. With the Wii game Just Dance 2. I had no clue it was such a workout! I’m playing it for at least 30 minutes (though closer to an hour) a day, and it never feels like exercise. Anyone who’s ever met me knows I hate to sweat, but I don’t mind it so much when it’s as much fun as ‘It’s Raining Men’. Hallelujah, indeed.

I’m also really excited to say that I get to go back to my last school next weekend and see all my friends for a couple of days. I’ve missed the Wolfpack like crazy and I can’t wait to get back to them. I also get to see my work bestie, Ashlea, who has recently started her own blog! You can find it here. She is going to be dying my bestie’s hair purple, and we are so excited to play with that new color and style!!

I’ve been reading a lot more lately, and the strain on my eyes has made me abandon my last pair of contacts in favor of my glasses. Unfortunately, never wearing them means I’ve been getting killer headaches by the end of the day. Luckily, new contacts should be here by the start of next week. Whoo-hoo!

I’ve been trying to write more, but nothing is feeling right. I have a couple of concepts I’m thinking about, but once I start to plan them…it’s pretty clear that I need to do more thinking on what’s going on. If you have any story suggestions, let me know!

I’ve also decided to finally join my sister and mother in knowing ASL. I recently finished watching the first three seasons of Switched at Birth and knew it would be nice to have another way to communicate and bond with my sister, so I’m very slowly learning how to sign. Wish me luck!

On a last note, our weather has been beautiful and I cannot wait to lose my winter weight and put some shorts on again! This weekend, I read outside for a few hours and it felt so amazing to be outside and warm again.
